The second coming is the Bible's promise that Jesus — who came once as a servant to save — will return as King to judge, to reign, and to make everything right. It is the great hope of the Christian faith.
A sure promise
Jesus told His disciples He would come back, and angels confirmed it as He ascended. The New Testament writers lived in the light of this certain hope.
What it will be like
Scripture describes His return as visible, glorious and unmistakable — every eye will see Him. No one knows the day or hour, so we live ready every day.
Living in the light of His return
Because Jesus is coming, we live with purpose: loving others, staying faithful, and holding loosely to the things of this world.
